This recipe can make 2 medium sized pizza.
All purpose flour – 1 and 1/2 cups
Wheat flour – ¼ cup
Yeast – 2 tsp
Milk – 1/2 cup
Water – ¼ cup
Sugar – 2 tsp
Olive Oil – 2-3 tbsp
Salt – ½ tsp
Mushroom – 2-3 (sliced)
Capsicum – ½ (sliced)
Onion – ½ (sliced)
Some black olives
Mozzarella cheese (grated) - around 3/4 cup
For Pizza Sauce
Tomato Sauce – ½ cup
Chilli-Garlic sauce – 1 tbsp
Pepper powder – ¼ tsp
Some dried basil
Some Italian seasoning
How to make pizza from scratch?
- First preheat the oven 450°F.
- Take water and milk in a bowl. Heat this mixture in a microwave just for 40-45 seconds till it becomes little warm.
- Add in yeast and sugar. Mix well and cover it up with kitchen towel. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes. If it turns frothy, then yeast is activated.
- Sieve the flour and add salt to taste.
- Start kneading the dough by adding little yeast water at a time. Dough should be very soft and sticky.
- Add olive oil to it and again knead the dough really well.
- Whole process of kneading will take around 20-25 minutes.
- Once you are finished with kneading, apply some oil on top and transfer this dough to big pot. Cover it up with plastic wrap and let it rest in warm place for about 1 and half hour.
- Dough will become triple in size. Just punch the dough little bit to remove air in it.
- Divide the dough into two equal parts. Take one part and roll gently with rolling pin. Transfer to greased baking pan and again flatten with your hands in order to fit perfectly.
- Apply few drops of olive oil on top and bake the base in oven for 6-8 minutes. Till the time, get your toppings and sauce ready.
- For making sauce, just mix all ingredients mentioned under ‘For Sauce’ and your quick homemade pizza sauce is ready. I have made this sauce as per my liking; you can have your own variation in using ingredients to make this sauce.
- For topping, I have used capsicum, mushroom, onion and olives. You can try some different toppings to suit your taste.
- Grate the cheese.
- Now, spread some pizza sauce on base, Top it with all vegetables and cheese. Finally place some olives on top.
- Transfer the pizza into an oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until vegetables cooks and cheese melts.
- Enjoy this delicious homemade pizza with your loved ones.
- For another pizza, I have used simple spinach and cheese topping. I have used less cheese in my second pizza, but that was also delicious.
