Cabbage - 1/2 head (roughly chopped)
Onion - 1 (finely chopped)
Frozen green peas - 1/2 cup
Green chilies - 2 (finely chopped)
Garlic paste - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Pinch of asafoetida
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - 8-10
Salt to taste
- Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chilies, pinch of asafoetida, and curry leaves. Let them splutter.
- Add onion and saute till translucent. Add garlic paste and saute for few seconds till raw smell from garlic goes away.
- Then add cabbage, green peas, turmeric powder, 1/4 cup of water and salt to taste. Mix well and cook for 4-5 minutes till the time cabbage turns tender and all moisture evaporates.
- Switch off the heat and serve hot with roti.
