1 cup shredded paneer
1 big onion - finely chopped
1 medium sized tomato - finely chopped
1/4 cup frozen green peas(optional)
3 green chilies - finely chopped
1/2 tsp shredded ginger
3-4 curry leaves
1/4 tsp of mustard seeds
1/4 tsp of cumin seeds
pinch of asafoetida
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 tsp of kasoori powder
1/4 tsp garam masala (optional)
2 tsp oil
salt to taste
chopped cilantro for garnishing
- Heat up oil in pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and let them crackle. Add chopped green chilies, pinch of asafoetida. Add shredded ginger, chopped onions and saute till onion becomes translucent. Add chopped tomato, turmeric powder and salt to taste. Saute this mixture for few minutes.
- Add shredded paneer and mix well. Keep stirring the mixture.Once all moisture evaporates, add frozen green peas, garam masala, ground black pepper, kasoori methi and chopped cilantro. Mix this up really well and cover the pan. Let it cook for 1-2 minutes on low heat. Serve hot with roti or bread.
