Kanda Bhaji / Onion Pakoda




For making 10-12 bhaji


Ingredients:


2 big onions - make thin slices
4-5 tsp of besan /  gram flour
1 tsp of red chili powder
half tsp of cumin powder
half tsp of turmeric powder
half tsp of ajwain 
oil for frying
salt to taste


Procedure:

  • Mix sliced onions, besan, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, ajwain and salt to taste in mixing bowl. Cover the bowl an let it rest for 20 mins.
  • Mixture will loose water. Start adding small amount of besan at a time and mix well. Don't add too much besan and there is no need to add water also.
  • Heat up oil and drop small bhajis / pakoda in oil by hand or spoon. Deep fry them till they get golden brown color. 
  • Serve hot with tomato ketchup or any chutney.
