Recipe for making 20 medium sized ladoos
3 cups of besan / chickpeas flour
1 cup ghee
3 tsp of sooji / semolina
1 and half cups of powdered sugar
1/4th tsp cardamon powder
broken cashew nuts
- Melt the ghee in pan on medium heat. Add sooji to it. Stir well and add besan. Roast besan on medium heat till the time besan starts to change it's color and nice aroma starts to come out. It will take around 10-15 mins.
- Once the roasting of besan is done, cool down the mixture little bit. Add powdered sugar, cardamon powder and broken cashews to it. Mix all these ingredients with warm besan. Make medium sized ladoos by gently pressing the mixture in between your palms. Make round and smooth ladoos and let them cool down completely. Store them in air tight container or zip lock bag.
- To give coarse texture to ladoos, add 1/4th cup of melted ghee and 1/4th cup of milk to besan. Mix well and remove all lumps in besan. Transfer the besan to sieve which has medium holes. You will get coarse besan by this technique. Then follow above steps to make ladoos.
